The General Consulate of Uzbekistan in Yekaterinburg was contacted by representatives of the 1st City Children's Clinic in Sverdlovsk, stating that an Uzbek citizen, Kh.S., had abandoned her child and fled the hospital. According to reports, the mother had previously informed doctors of her intent to give up the baby due to its weak health. Three days later, she left the hospital, leaving the infant behind.
Diplomats located the woman and held a preventive discussion regarding the necessity of returning the child to their homeland. They registered the baby and processed all necessary documents for both mother and child free of charge. With the support of Uzbek entrepreneurs working in the region, the clinic's medical expenses were covered.
The Uzbekistan Migration Fund provided air tickets for the "Yekaterinburg–Tashkent" flight, and the mother and baby were safely seen off to return to their country.
