    On November 24, the Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, held a meeting on urgent measures to improve the environmental situation in Tashkent with the participation of the Administration's leadership and the departments involved.

    Deep concern was expressed about the level of air pollution observed in recent days, and it was noted that this situation causes legitimate concern among residents of the capital and requires immediate and coordinated actions.

    The Head of the Administration listened to reports from responsible managers on the current state of atmospheric air, incoming appeals from citizens, as well as proposals and initiatives from the public. The key factors influencing the current situation and possible ways to minimize the negative impact on human health and the environment were considered in detail.

    It was also emphasized that in cases of violations of the norms, it is necessary to take decisive measures against polluting industries. People's health cannot be the subject of compromise, and this principle should be the same for both the state and business, it was noted at the meeting.

    Based on expert opinions that have been worked out in an accelerated manner in recent days, Saida Shavkatovna presented a set of proposals covering the short, medium and long term, from operational steps to systemic solutions aimed at preventing the recurrence of similar situations in the future.

    In particular, the head of the Presidential Administration initiated measures to strengthen environmental control, limit the activities of polluting facilities, tighten construction requirements, large-scale landscaping of the city and create a modern air quality monitoring system.

    These measures will form the basis of the upcoming draft Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which will be submitted to the head of state in the near future.
