According to the press service of the Ministry of Culture, within the framework of the conference, Samarkand was approved as the cultural capital of the Islamic world for 2025. This status will allow the world to see the cultural heritage of one of the oldest cities in Central Asia, the news agency "Dunyo" reports.
The conference also discussed a number of issues related to the leading principles of world cultural policy and indicators of sustainable development, the assessment of the living wealth and traditional knowledge of mankind in the Islamic world, as well as the fight against illicit trafficking in cultural property.
