Within the framework of the accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the WTO, the harmonization of national legislation with the agreements of the World Trade Organization is one of the main conditions for membership in this organization.

This Law introduces amendments and additions to the Law "On Licensing, Licensing and Notification Procedures" related to the introduction of licensing activities for the production (purchase), processing, sale of scrap and waste of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as wholesale and retail trade in natural gas.

Amendments are also being made to the Law "On State Duty" regarding the determination of the amount of state duty for obtaining a license for the production (purchase), processing, sale of scrap and waste of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as for wholesale and retail trade in natural gas.

During the discussion, the senators expressed their views on the fact that this Law serves to attract the private sector, new innovations and investments in the trade in scrap and waste of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, natural gas, as well as the creation of a competitive and open market environment.

At the end of the discussion, the Law was approved by the senators.
