Today, on August 1, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the grave of Musa Erniyazov. Suras from the Koran were recited in tribute to the late politician.
“Musa-ogha [complement in Karakalpak denoting reverence to a respected person – trans.] loved the people, was a conscientious and honest person. I trusted him very much, and thus was calm for Karakalpakstan. He valued the friendship of the Uzbek and Karakalpak peoples bound by language, religion, common destiny and concerns. We embarked on extensive works towards the development of Karakalpakstan, improvement of the well-being of people. And we will definitely continue with this cause together with his associates,” the head of state suggested.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the cemetery where Musa Erniyazov was laid to rest will be improved.
“We will turn this place into a shrine, where everyone who arrives in Karakalpakstan can pay tribute to his memory. Honoring such patriots will become a good example for our people, youth,” the President said.
