Xi Jinping called Joe Biden four "red lines" that cannot be crossed by the United States

There are four "red lines" in relations between China and the United States that Washington should not cross.

Chinese President Xi Jinping told American President Joe Biden about their essence during the APEC summit.

"The Taiwan issue, democracy and human rights, China's system and its right to development are four red lines that cannot be challenged or crossed," the state-run Xinhua news agency quoted the Chinese leader as saying.

Also during the talks with Biden, Xi Jinping said that the one-China principle and three joint Chinese-American communiques are the political basis of relations between the two countries.

According to the Chinese leader, contradictions and disagreements between two major countries such as China and the United States are inevitable, but the parties should not undermine each other's basic interests, much less seek conflict or confrontation, reports rg.ru.
