The number of high-tech enterprises in Syrdarya continues to grow

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Invest Asia enterprise operating in the Syrdarya Free Economic Zone.

The enterprise is one of the leading producers of packaging materials in Central Asia. It currently accounts for 60 percent of polypropylene bags and flexible containers, as well as 40 percent of stretch film on the domestic market.

The complex occupies 60 hectares and has created around 2,500 jobs.

Packaging products are essential for many sectors – from the food and pharmaceutical industries to manufacturing, construction, and household chemicals. Their quality directly affects the safe storage, transportation, and timely delivery of goods to the market. Therefore, domestic production of such materials reduces import dependence, maintains domestic market stability, and significantly lowers manufacturers’ costs.

Another essential feature of Invest Asia is that it is the only enterprise in the country producing biaxially oriented polypropylene film. Known for its strength and lightness, this type of packaging material has gained substantial popularity in its segment.

Over the first ten months of this year, the enterprise produced goods worth 1.9 trillion UZS, with exports totaling $23 million. Production is carried out using high-tech equipment manufactured in Austria, Germany, Italy, China, and the United States.

The President reviewed the technological processes and plans and spoke with the employees.

By the end of the year, the most extensive production facilities in Central Asia for nonwoven materials – spunbond and meltblown – are expected to be launched here. These materials are widely used in medicine, construction, household chemicals, and agriculture.

It is projected that once all projects reach full capacity, the number of jobs will reach 10,000, and polymer processing capacity will increase to 280,000 tons.

The Head of State also held a dialogue with foreign investors implementing major projects in the region and proposing new initiatives. It was emphasized that any project that contributes to regional economic development, increases employment, and improves the population’s standard of living will receive state support.

Investors praised the business and investment climate in Uzbekistan and expressed gratitude to the President for the vast opportunities created for business and for the consistent attention being paid.
