The sides exchanged views on the state and prospects of cooperation, improvement of the legislative process, exchange of mutually beneficial experience in the development of the electoral system.

E. Banbury highly appreciated the progress of reforms carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev within the framework of the Development Strategy of the New Uzbekistan, in the implementation of which important tasks are also assigned to the country's parliament.

He stressed that the fundamental principles and priorities of IFES activities are in many ways similar and consonant with the goals of the democratic transformations being carried out in the republic. He noted that the processes of adoption of the updated Constitution and early elections of the President of Uzbekistan clearly demonstrated the country's enormous progress in improving electoral processes and legislation, as well as ensuring the electoral rights of citizens.

The parties also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
