The meeting
focused on agreeing on further steps to formally adopt and launch the roadmap
for the health and well-being of Central Asia for 2026-2030 as a key regional
platform for cooperation in the field of healthcare.
In his
speech, Hans Kluge stressed that holding a meeting in 2026, declared the Year
of Health Protection in the CIS during Uzbekistan's presidency of the CIS
Health Cooperation Council, creates favorable conditions for further
development of regional cooperation in the field of healthcare, promotion of
joint initiatives of Central Asian countries and strengthening practical
multilateral cooperation.
During the
event, the heads of the Ministries of Health of the Central Asian countries
exchanged views on the official adoption of the roadmap, coordination of
further steps at the regional level and prospects for cooperation with
international partners.
Following
the discussions, the meeting participants reached an agreement on the official
adoption of the specified roadmap within the framework of the CIS Council for
Cooperation in the Field of Healthcare, the next meeting of which is scheduled
for October 2026 in Uzbekistan.
