This was announced by Tajik Finance Minister Fayziddin Kahhorzoda during a press conference.

He noted that the volume of financing can grow due to attracting investments from international partners.

— There were certain conditions that the Government of Tajikistan had to fulfill in order to receive these funds. All conditions have been fulfilled, and financing for the first tranche of $350 million from the World Bank has begun. Negotiations on the allocation of additional funds from this organization in the amount of $300 million have been successfully completed. These resources are expected to become available in the middle of this year, Kahhorzoda said.

The speaker added that the procedures for raising funds from the Islamic Development Bank, the Saudi Development Fund, the Kuwait Development Fund, and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank totaling $850 million are also being completed.

The Rogun HPP is a hydroelectric power plant under construction in Tajikistan on the Vakhsh River, near the city of Rogun. Upon completion of the project, the hydroelectric dam with a height of 335 m will become the tallest in the world, and the station with an installed capacity of 3780 MW will become the largest in Central Asia.
