In 2025, economic and trade cooperation between China and Central Asia achieved significant success, with trade turnover amounting to $106.3 billion, an increase of 12% year-on-year. This was announced by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China in a statement.

According to the statement, for the first time in history, the trade turnover between China and Central Asia has exceeded the $100 billion mark and has demonstrated positive dynamics for five consecutive years.

Last year, China became the largest trading partner of the Central Asian countries for the first time. China's exports to Central Asia reached 71.2 billion dollars, which is 11% more than a year earlier, due to a significant increase in the supply of electromechanical products, as well as high-tech goods. Imports from Central Asia totaled $35.1 billion, an increase of 14% year-on-year.

Cross-border e-commerce trade between China and Central Asia maintained a rapid growth rate, the construction of warehouse and logistics facilities continued, and cooperation in the field of cross-border payments was actively developing.

High-quality cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative continued to deepen and bring tangible results. The implementation of a number of major projects in areas such as interconnectedness, equipment manufacturing, environmentally friendly minerals and modern agriculture has been accelerated, which has effectively contributed to the expansion of exports to Central Asia and helped the countries of the region in industrial modernization and economic growth.

The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China stated that in the future it will continue to optimize the trade structure, develop new forms of business and promote the creation of higher-level institutional mechanisms.
