At the beginning of the meeting, Senate Speaker Tanzila Narbayeva noted that the visit of a high-ranking guest to our country provides an excellent opportunity to open a new page in the development of close cooperation established between the two countries.
There are similarities in the national customs and traditions of the peoples of Uzbekistan and Georgia, both peoples have such features as hospitality and devotion to their country. In recent years, the bonds of friendship have been developing in accordance with long-standing traditions. The two peoples share a sense of mutual trust.
Our opinion is confirmed by the establishment of the Uzbekistan-Georgia Friendship Society in Tashkent and the functioning of the Megobroba cultural center.
During the conversation, the guests were provided with detailed information about the priorities identified by the Strategy "Uzbekistan - 2030", about the large-scale reforms carried out in our country within the framework of this Strategy.
As it was emphasized during the meeting, the strengthening of not only intergovernmental, but also inter-parliamentary relations, the exchange of experience in improving legislation, and the wise use of untapped opportunities ensure the consistency of cooperation.
Kobakhidze expressed Georgia's interest in developing close cooperation with Uzbekistan and highly appreciated the achievements of our country in all areas, noting that the reforms carried out by the head of state are reflected in the daily lives of the people.
During the dialogue, attention was also paid to strengthening cooperation in such priority areas as tourism, economics, electronics, agriculture and transport communications.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the implementation of promising projects between the two countries, in particular, the issues of defining new plans by analyzing the current state of cooperation were discussed.
It was noted that the leaders of the Parliament of Georgia are showing great interest in participating in the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which will be held in our country. The parties agreed to further strengthen the practice of mutual support in the international arena.
