Issues of development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran in the field of transport and logistics were discussed at the meeting. The parties separately noted that the transport and transit sector is one of the important and strategic areas of cooperation between our countries.

The Minister of Road and Urban Development of Iran, Mehrdod Bazrposh, announced his readiness to cooperate with Uzbekistan in the field of multimodal transport and the development of transit communications.

At the meeting, the parties agreed on the implementation of the plan for the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran in all areas of transport and the Ashgabat Agreement.

The issues of effective use of the opportunities of the southern and northern ports of Iran, activation of transportation along the North-South transport corridor, reduction of existing tariffs and facilitation of transportation by road and rail by providing additional amenities to drivers from both countries were also considered.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, within the framework of the areas of cooperation discussed at the meeting, tasks for further implementation were identified.
