Uzbekistan Airways Joint Stock Company has signed a memorandum with Winrock International, which has 25 years of global experience in implementing programs to combat human trafficking. In particular, the airline became a participant in the project "Safe Migration in Central Asia", funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

In 2021, the Ministry of Internal Affairs received 840 appeals related to human trafficking. 200 people became victims of crimes, including 120 women (60%) of sexual exploitation (11 of them minors), 33 men of labor exploitation (8%), and 47 children (32%) became victims of child trafficking.

The key task of Uzbekistan Airways is the organization of safe passenger transportation. For this reason, the airline accepted Winrock International's offer of cooperation. The program is aimed at preventing human trafficking, protecting survivors of this tragedy and ensuring safe migration.

Within the framework of cooperation, representatives of Winrock International in the first quarter of 2023 will conduct a series of trainings for flight attendants and ground staff of Uzbekistan Airways about their role in the field of safe migration, prevention, signs, identification of victims of human trafficking and measures to counter this problem.

During its 31-year activity, Uzbekistan Airways has consolidated its status as one of the most reliable air carriers in the international arena.

To date, Uzbekistan Airways operates flights to more than 40 cities in Europe, Asia and America, where more than 250 flights are operated weekly, including non-stop scheduled flights from Tashkent to New York. On average, the airline transports more than 300 thousand passengers per month.
