The issues of strengthening large-scale ties with the Muslim Council of Elders, expanding cooperation in the field of strengthening religious tolerance and traditional Islamic values were discussed.
During the conversation, it was noted that under the leadership of the President of the country, special attention is paid to the issues of education and religious tolerance, over the past seven years more than 50 legislative acts have been adopted in this area.
It was emphasized that Uzbekistan's policy of establishing interethnic and interfaith harmony fully complies with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international legal documents.
By way of information, it should be noted that in our country representatives of different nationalities and religions have constitutional guarantees of the full realization of their potential, protection of their rights and interests. There are the Office of Muslims of Uzbekistan, its representative offices in the regions, 3 higher and 10 secondary special educational institutions, more than 2,300 religious organizations of 16 denominations.
Muhammad Abdusalam stressed that the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan on the adoption of a special resolution of the UN General Assembly "Education and religious tolerance" was recognized in the international arena, and the document gave impetus to the unification of efforts in this direction.
It was noted that Uzbekistan is of great importance for Muslims all over the world, and scientists who carried out their activities in this country have left a great scientific legacy not only to the Muslim world, but also to the whole world.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached on further expansion of ties, visits of delegations, joint organization of various scientific and practical events.
