On October 8, 2025, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan held intergovernmental consultations with the Federal Republic of Germany on financial and technical cooperation.

The meeting was chaired by Shokhrukh Gulyamov, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, and Karolina Probst, representative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of partnership, confirming the strategic nature of Uzbek-German relations. It was noted that the total portfolio of joint projects with the KfW Development Bank includes 33 projects totaling €3.8 billion, of which €280 million are grant funds. In addition, cooperation with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) contributes to reforms in the fields of public administration, education and climate sustainability.

Special attention is paid to improving the effectiveness of project approval and implementation procedures. The Uzbek side positively assessed Germany's initiative to simplify certain administrative procedures, which will speed up the implementation of new programs.

The consultations confirmed the priority areas for further cooperation - sustainable development, vocational education, healthcare, social protection and green energy.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to begin preparations for the next government talks, which are scheduled for 2026, noting that the consultations were an important step towards further strengthening the Uzbek-German partnership.
