During the talks, the parties also held the 8th
meeting of the Chinese-Uzbek Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee, Xinhua
reported.
Liu Guozhong noted that China intends to continue
deepening mutually beneficial cooperation with Uzbekistan and expand the
content of the Chinese-Uzbek community of common destiny in the interests of
the peoples of the two countries.
According to him, the parties are ready to implement
the agreements reached at the level of heads of state, as well as effectively
use the capabilities of the intergovernmental committee to further develop
bilateral relations.
Special attention was paid to expanding cooperation
within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as cooperation in
the fields of economy and trade, energy, transport, agriculture, science and
technology, security, poverty reduction, and cultural and humanitarian
exchanges.
Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov stressed that
Tashkent considers China as a long-term and reliable strategic partner. He
expressed readiness to strengthen political mutual trust and expand practical
cooperation in various areas.
In addition, the head of government confirmed
Uzbekistan's commitment to the "one China" principle and its
willingness to jointly implement international initiatives put forward by
Chinese President Xi Jinping.
