Uzbekistan and Vast company have started cooperation in the field of space technologies

    During his visit to the United States, Uzbekistan's Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov met with Rich Leshner, Vice president of Vast, an American private aerospace company that is building the world's first commercial space station.

    During the meeting, the development of space technologies in Uzbekistan, strengthening international cooperation and expanding the country's human resources potential in the space sector were discussed.

    Sherzod Shermatov stressed the importance of supporting science and innovation, creating opportunities for young researchers and Uzbekistan's active participation in international space programs.

    The parties discussed the prospects for long-term cooperation with Vast, including joint scientific research, personnel exchange programs, as well as the participation of Uzbek specialists in future missions after the successful launch of the first Haven-1 station.

    The possibility of Uzbek scientists and engineers participating in the Haven-2 project in the field of artificial gravity, life support systems and the design of orbital architecture was also considered.

    Additional initiatives were proposed in the field of education, training, practical internships and the creation of joint laboratories, which are aimed at expanding practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Vast.

    Following the meeting, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding, which consolidates cooperation and defines future steps to increase the participation of Uzbek specialists in international space programs and projects in the field of orbital technologies.

    Vast is a private U.S. aerospace company engaged in the development of a new generation of space stations. Her first project, Haven-1, is the world's first commercial space station and will form the basis for multifunctional modular stations, including Haven-2.
