Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan expand strategic cooperation in the field of higher education, science and innovation

    On November 16, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kongratbay Sharipov met with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Bayramgul Orazdurdyeva in Tashkent.

    During the negotiations, the parties discussed issues of personnel training, exchange of experience, launching joint educational programs and developing research projects in areas of mutual interest.

    In particular, the following areas of cooperation were considered:

    exchange of teachers and students, organization of short-term internships, expansion of the number of joint projects within the Erasmus+ program;

    launching of two-degree educational programs in agriculture;

    joint holding of the WorldSkills – 2026 event in Uzbekistan;

    implementation of joint scientific projects in the fields of agriculture, irrigation technologies, desert land reclamation, green energy, water resources management, information technology and artificial intelligence;

    the introduction of joint educational programs, the expansion of academic mobility and the strengthening of cooperation between technoparks.

    Bayramgul Orazdurdiyeva noted that friendly relations based on mutual trust between our countries are consistently developing, and expressed her willingness to support joint initiatives in this area.

    Following the meeting, the parties agreed to establish a joint working group and develop a roadmap for cooperation for 2025-2026, aimed at further strengthening bilateral ties.
