Uzbekistan and Turkey discussed issues of cargo transportation development

    The Center for the Study of Problems of Transport and Logistics Development under the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan held an online meeting with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey with the participation of representatives of the railway administrations of both countries.

    The parties discussed issues of further development of the international multimodal transport corridor between Asia and Europe through Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Iran -Turkey within the framework of the Protocol signed at the 12th meeting of Ministers of Transport of the Economic Cooperation Organization, held in November 2023 in Tashkent.

    An exchange of views also took place on the possibility of consolidating cargo in the main logistics centers of Turkey, followed by their shipment to Uzbekistan by block trains.

    In addition, the parties agreed to coordinate actions to create favorable conditions for cargo transportation along the route "Countries of the American continent - Turkey - Caucasus - Central Asia".

    Following the meeting, the Turkish side invited the delegation of Uzbekistan to participate in the "Global Forum on Transport Connectivity-2025", which will be held on June 25 this year in Istanbul with the participation of transport ministers of several countries.
