    Uzbekistan and Vietnam launch a number of new projects

    An Uzbek-Vietnamese round table was held in Tashkent, organized as part of the official visit of Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man to our country.

    The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khojaev, Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam Tran Hong Ha, heads of relevant ministries and departments, as well as representatives of leading Vietnamese companies such as Petrovietnam, Vinachem, Sovico, Vietnam Airlines, Vinafood, Vietravel, Perseus, Delion and others.

    The agenda included topical issues of expanding bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation, including cooperation in such sectors as energy, oil and gas, chemical industry, geology, agriculture, healthcare, digitalization, tourism and pharmaceuticals.

    In his speech, Jamshid Khojaev noted the high level of Uzbek-Vietnamese dialogue, emphasizing Uzbekistan's readiness to actively implement joint initiatives focused on industrial partnership, technological exchange and strengthening logistics ties.

    The Vietnamese side also expressed its commitment to actively participate in joint projects, establish joint ventures, take measures to increase mutual trade, launch new flights and open Uzbek trading houses in Vietnam.

    The heads of Vietnamese companies Petrovietnam, Sovico and Delion expressed interest in implementing projects in the fields of energy, aviation, digital transformation, food production, as well as in the field of information and communication technologies.

    In turn, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man expressed gratitude to the people and government of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and stressed that today's dialogue was a logical continuation of the meeting with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M. Mirziyoyev, during which agreements were reached to expand strategic partnership and bring trade and investment cooperation to a new level.

    Following the results of the round table, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministries of Health of the two countries, a Program of cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Vietnam for 2025-2026 and a Plan of practical measures to develop cooperation between Uzbekistan and Vietnam for 2025-2026.

    These documents include concrete steps to strengthen multifaceted bilateral cooperation, including the holding of an Intergovernmental Commission meeting, the creation of a joint working group on trade, the organization of business forums, the opening of trading houses, roadshows, and the launch of direct flights.

    The parties also intend to implement projects in agriculture, the oil and gas and chemical industries, pharmaceuticals, and geological exploration.

    The round table confirmed the high level of interest of both sides in building a strong, multifaceted and long-term partnership aimed at unlocking the economic potential of the two countries.
