The main
event of the visit was the talks between Laziz Kudratov and the Minister of
Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Ryusei Akazawa. The heads of departments
outlined concrete steps to enhance interstate economic relations and deepen
strategic cooperation.
During the
visit, meetings were also held with the leadership of the Japan International
Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Japan Federation of Business (Keidanren) and the
Japan-Uzbekistan Silk Road Foundation. During these negotiations, issues of
project financing, expansion of business cooperation and implementation of
socially significant programs were discussed in detail.
In
addition, substantive discussions were held with the top management of large
Japanese companies.
The result
was agreements on the implementation of joint projects in the fields of energy,
finance, banking, microfinance, logistics, healthcare, food industry and
biotechnology.
