Recently, a delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Jamshid Abduzukhurov and other responsible persons made a working visit to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

The delegation held talks with the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Afghanistan. During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture, the exchange of experience and the implementation of joint projects.

During this visit, a 100-hectare site allocated for the implementation of the Friendship Garden project was examined as a practical example of agricultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.

The Friendship Garden project provides for the introduction of modern agricultural technologies and the joint work of agricultural specialists from the two countries.

Thanks to the project, it is planned to develop intensive horticulture in Afghanistan, increase the potential for fruit cultivation, create new jobs for the local population and form the foundations for sustainable economic growth in the region.

This initiative is an important manifestation of the developing bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, based on friendship, mutual respect and mutually beneficial cooperation.
