According to the Chinese state news agency Xinhua, the EXPO, which will be held in Urumqi from August 17 to 21, is designed to deepen cooperation between Asia and Europe. Trade negotiations, forums and seminars on regional economic cooperation are planned within the framework of the EXPO, the Dunyo news agency reports.
This year, the main attention at the EXPO will be paid to the promotion of trade, the organizers emphasize. A record 33 events will be held, including trade negotiations, panel discussions and seminars aimed at promoting trade, investment and industrial cooperation. A symposium dedicated to the development of industry and trade along the Silk Road is also planned.
According to Xinhua, the symposium will be attended by guests from five Central Asian states and about 300 entrepreneurs from China and other countries. The event will focus on the role of private business and provide a platform for expanding Xinjiang's cooperation with other Chinese regions and neighboring countries.
More than 1.3 thousand companies have confirmed their participation in the exhibition, including 25 of the TOP 500 leading companies in the world. A total of 40 countries and regions and 7 international organizations will send their representatives to the EXPO.
Previous EXPO "China - Eurasia: goods and trade" took place in 2015, 2017 and 2021. More than 3.7 thousand companies from 46 countries and regions of the world took part in them.
Recall that in July Urumqi completed the construction of one of the buildings of the Financial Investment Center "Five Central Asian Countries" - the Service Center for financial intermediaries of the Silk Road Economic Belt. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to build two office buildings - a Service center for financial intermediaries of the Silk Road Economic Belt and a Training Center for financial and Economic personnel of the Silk Road Economic Belt.
