During the conversation, topical issues of Uzbekistan's interaction with the UN and its institutions in areas of mutual interest were discussed.
G. Fozilov informed the representatives of the Organization about the main directions of large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan, in particular, the Development Strategy of the New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026, which is fully in tune with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Special attention was paid to further strengthening ties within the framework of Uzbekistan's National Strategy for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals. Gwi Yoop Son noted that this strategy is being implemented very successfully.
The sides exchanged views on expanding cooperation in mitigating the consequences of the Aral Sea environmental disaster, including through the UN Multi-Partner Trust Fund for Human Security for the Aral Sea region.
