During the meeting, issues of strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and the European Union were discussed, which in recent years have demonstrated steady positive dynamics and are reaching a new level of interaction.
Special attention was paid to the issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation, protection of human rights, security, environmental protection and promotion of gender equality.
At the meeting, the sides also discussed issues of women's empowerment, including within the framework of the regional platform for Dialogue of Women Leaders in Central Asia. The importance of the Asian Women's Forum as an international platform for sharing experiences and promoting gender equality in the region was noted.
It was noted that one of the key results of practical cooperation was the inclusion of Uzbekistan in the GSP+ program of the European Union, which provides the country with the opportunity to enter the largest world markets.
It was emphasized that within the framework of Uzbekistan's inclusion in the GSP+ program, obligations for the effective implementation of 27 key international conventions related to the protection of human rights and labor, environmental protection, climate and quality management are being discussed. The fulfillment of these obligations creates new opportunities for strengthening trade and economic cooperation with the European Union and the integration of Uzbekistan into international markets.
The sides also discussed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Central Asian states and the European Union, emphasizing the importance of regional cooperation to ensure stability and sustainable development.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue an active dialogue and joint work on the implementation of the planned plans to further deepen the partnership between Uzbekistan and the European Union.
