Advanced international approaches to regulating the shadow economy are being discussed in Tashkent

The III Forum of heads of tax authorities of the Caucasus, Central Asia and Mongolia (KCAM) has started in the capital. The event was organized by the Tax Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the support of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the IMF Regional Center for Capacity Development for the CCE countries.

The main topic of the forum is the problems of regulating the shadow economy, global trends and regional specifics. The participants discuss modern approaches to improving the efficiency of tax administration and reducing the scale of the informal sector.

Welcoming remarks were made by the Deputy Head of the Department of Budgetary Affairs of the IMF, Mrs. Margaret Cotton, Chairman of the Tax Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan Farrukh Pulatov and Chairman of the Treasury Service Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Haidarov.

The forum will include an exchange of views on best international approaches to reducing the shadow economy.

The Forum is taking place on March 12-13 and serves as an important platform for professional interaction, developing joint solutions in the field of budget revenue management, as well as holding bilateral meetings that strengthen international cooperation.
