Today, the Olympic Glory Museum hosted a ceremony of sending off the sports delegation of Uzbekistan to the 17th Summer Paralympic Games in Paris 2024. The event became an important milestone on the way to new sporting achievements of our country.
The preparations for these Paralympic Games were different from the previous ones. Thanks to the personal support of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and special attention to the Paralympic movement, all organizational issues were resolved at a high level. As a result, Uzbek athletes have won 113 licenses to participate in Paris 2024.
A delegation of 65 athletes is going to the Paralympics, which is a new record for Uzbekistan. Our athletes will take part in para-athletics, judo, swimming, powerlifting and other sports, representing their homeland at the world level.
Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov spoke at the ceremony, wishing the athletes success and noting the conditions created for them. He stressed that the desire of Uzbek par athletes to win inspires us all.
