The 5th meeting of the Uzbek-Kazakh Business Council was held in Tashkent

    On April 26 of this year, the 5th meeting of the Uzbek-Kazakh Business Council was held in Tashkent with the participation of representatives of business circles.

    At the opening ceremony of the forum, the co-chairman of the Uzbek-Kazakh Business Council - Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhabov and the co-chairman of the Kazakh-Uzbek Business Council - Chairman of the Board of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan Yerenov Ayan Aidarovich made a speech.

    The heads of delegations noted the strategic importance of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, stressed the important role of active cooperation between business circles.

    At the meeting, representatives of the business circles of the two countries noted the readiness of entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to cooperate in implementing joint investment projects and creating favorable conditions for establishing direct relations in order to enhance mutual trade.

    The large-scale prospects of industrial cooperation between producers of the two countries and the formation of continuous value chains, taking into account the comparative priorities of the economies of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, are noted.

    Specific examples of cooperation in this direction are given. In particular, a number of enterprises engaged in textile, automotive, mining, construction and other activities have been successfully launched on the territory of the two countries.

    It should be noted that by the end of 2022, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan reached $ 5 billion. This is more than last year's figure by almost 30 percent. The export of Kazakhstani goods amounted to $ 3.7 billion. The growth was achieved mainly due to ore and copper concentrate, wheat, automobiles, sunflower oil, beef and aluminum.

    Within the framework of the event, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Territorial Administration of the Tashkent Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Turkestan region, as well as an export contract for the supply of construction materials from Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan with a total value of about one million dollars.

    At the end of the event, meetings were held in the B2B format with the participation of representatives of the business circles of the two countries, the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry reports.
