The Turkish authorities plan to take fingerprints from foreigners arriving in the country. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic Ali Yerlikaya.

"When entering Turkey, both in the USA and in the UK, fingerprints will be taken," the minister said, without specifying when the project is planned to begin.

The Turkish Interior Minister also announced plans to copy the identity cards of persons who have received temporary protection status in the republic. First of all, this applies to Syrian citizens living in the country. Yerlikaya noted that it is impossible to forge such documents and their production has already begun, TASS reports.

According to the Turkish Interior Ministry, there are 4.4 million foreigners in the republic, of which 3.1 million are Syrian citizens.
