On September 13 of this year, within the framework of the SCO Samarkand Summit, an online meeting was held between the Minister of Innovative Development Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov and the head of the Chinese company Luye Investment Group Co., Ltd.

During the meeting, a memorandum was signed on the organization by the Ministry of Innovative Development together with the company in 2023-2028 of an "Innovation Center for the production of vaccines" worth $ 100 million.

Also at the meeting, the official representative of the company Liu Dianbo praised the work carried out by the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan on the creation and production of a vaccine against coronavirus infection.

The Innovation Center for the Production of Vaccines will be the only full-cycle biotechnological enterprise in Central Asia that allows supplying high-tech products to the local and CIS markets.

The project provides for the production of 200 million doses of 10 types of vaccines against hepatitis A, hepatitis B, papilloma, measles, tetanus and other diseases in the amount of 2 billion US dollars per year.

Taking into account the knowledge intensity of this full-cycle biotechnological production enterprise and the involvement of highly qualified scientific specialists in the future, it is proposed to create an "Innovative Vaccine Center" in the Tashkent region.
