This year, 11,178 general education schools in the republic will hold solemn events dedicated to Knowledge Day. Approximately 5.8 million students will take part in them, including first‑graders who, together with their parents, will be participating in the festive events for the first time.

In addition, 598 vocational education institutions and 73 academic lyceums will begin operating in the new academic year. In this regard, additional measures are being taken in the first days of the academic year to ensure public order, the safety of students, and to carry out preventive measures.

An operational meeting was held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, during which issues related to the organized start of the new academic year, ensuring the safety of students and their parents, maintaining public order, and preventing various incidents and emergencies were discussed.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov; the Commander of the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Colonel General Bahodir Tashmatov; the Minister for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Major General Azizbek Ikramov; as well as responsible representatives of the relevant departments and sectors.

As it was noted, taking into account the mass participation of students and their parents in the events, it is of particular importance to ensure public order and security in the venues of the celebrations, as well as the organization of unhindered traffic and pedestrians.

In particular, measures are envisaged to ensure road safety near educational institutions, regulate pedestrian flows, as well as control the movement and stopping of vehicles near schools.

Special attention will be paid to the organization of safe movement of pedestrians and vehicles near schools. This is especially important given the participation of first-graders in festive events with their parents.

The meeting also addressed issues related to compliance with fire safety requirements in educational institutions, preventing fires and other emergency situations, addressing identified shortcomings, and ensuring the readiness of relevant services for prompt action.

Responsible persons were given instructions to ensure that the necessary safety measures are in place in advance in each educational institution, to strengthen preventive work, to promptly address identified shortcomings, and to effectively coordinate the actions of the responsible agencies.

The first day of the new school year is an important and exciting event not only for students but also for their parents. Ensuring the smooth and safe conduct of events attended by millions of citizens requires all responsible services to demonstrate a high level of organization, vigilance, and responsibility.

The safety of children is a shared responsibility. All necessary measures are aimed at ensuring that events dedicated to Knowledge Day are conducted in an organized, calm manner and in full compliance with safety requirements.
