On the
first day of the new academic year, educational lessons "The Hour of the
Future" are held in higher education institutions, dedicated to the 35th
anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
These
lessons for young people talk about the development path that the country has
taken over the years of independence, about the large-scale reforms currently
being implemented, about the current stage of development of the New
Uzbekistan, as well as about the role of youth in building the country's
future.
Furthermore,
during the first academic week, the “Freshman School” is organized for first‑year students, along with a week titled “Introduction to the Credit‑Based Learning
System” and the “Induction into Students” events.
As part of
these events, students receive practical assistance regarding the credit‑modular system, the principles of academic integrity, the organization
of independent learning, opportunities for professional development, and the
use of digital services in the higher education system.
For upper‑year students, classes will begin on September 14.
On the eve
of the new academic year, a number of practical measures were carried out to
create the necessary infrastructure for students and to ensure they are
welcomed in a dignified manner. In particular, 13 higher education institutions
have commissioned new student dormitories with a capacity of 6,200 places and
academic buildings with a capacity of 3,500 places.
Also, in
order to ensure systematic accommodation of students in dormitories,
operational headquarters, “Kalkon” groups, teams of tutors and volunteers, as
well as call centres, have been set up at the universities.
