During the visit, a meeting was held with the Deputy Director of the Institute of Microbiology Hua Xiang. The results of the work done and plans for the future were discussed.
In particular, based on the results of phase III clinical trials of the ZF-UZ-Vac-2001 vaccine against coronavirus, conducted jointly with the Institute of Microbiology, clinical trials of the 2nd generation vaccine are currently being conducted. Issues of cooperation in the field of creating new generation vaccines were discussed. In turn, an agreement was reached on the passage of scientific internships by Uzbek scientists and conducting their own research at the Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Then the official opening ceremony of the joint Chinese-Uzbek laboratory, which is the result of joint work, took place. Within the framework of the event, the official ceremony of awarding the prize "Ambassador of Friendship of the Silk Road" to Academician Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov for his contribution to the development of scientific and innovative cooperation between China and Uzbekistan took place. The award was accepted by Deputy Minister Sh.Turdikulova.
The delegation also held a meeting with the Vice-Chairman of the China Agency for International Development and Cooperation (CIDCA) Deng Boking. The Uzbek side presented a number of proposals for implementation in cooperation with the organization. Among them are such initiatives as the modernization of scientific institutions, the creation of a National Center for Cellular Technologies, the improvement of the startup ecosystem in Uzbekistan, the development of innovative areas of our country.
Deng Boking, in turn, said that to date, 48 projects totaling 3.8 billion yuan are being implemented in the agency's cooperation with Uzbekistan. Noting that five more projects are in the process of implementation, Deng Boking stressed that the proposals presented by the delegation will be a good tool for the development of this effective cooperation.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to discuss detailed information and details of the submitted projects at expert meetings.
