The meeting was also attended by: Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov; Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin; Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lieutenant General of Aviation Dauren Kosanov; Minister of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic, Major General Ruslan Mukambetov; Minister of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan, Colonel General Emomali Sobirzoda; Secretary of the Council of Ministers of Defense of the CIS, Lieutenant General Yuri Dashkin; Secretary General of the CIS, Army General Sergey Lebedev.
According to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee, during the meeting, a thorough exchange of views took place on topical issues on the international agenda, the development of military cooperation and ensuring regional stability in modern conditions.
Special attention was paid to the analysis of the military-political situation, the functioning of the Joint Air Defense System and the Joint System for Monitoring and Assessing the missile Defense Situation, as well as improving the interaction of national troops in these systems, taking into account the experience of combat operations.
The main topics of the meeting were:
implementation of the Concept of military cooperation of the CIS countries until 2030;
tasks of joint military activities in the near and medium term;
development of joint military systems;
financial and personnel issues, as well as the definition of instructions for the further development of cooperation.
Following the meeting, decisions of the Council of Defense Ministers were signed aimed at strengthening the armed forces of the CIS countries and further developing military cooperation.
The 86th meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS member States was held in a businesslike and constructive atmosphere.
