This was
reported by the khokimiyat (administration) of the Surkhandarya region.
According
to official reports, in accordance with the President's directive, on the
occasion of Eid al-Adha and to support the population of Afghanistan affected
by floods and flash floods, a humanitarian shipment carrying nearly 200 tons of
food products was delivered to the Balkh province.
The
humanitarian cargo was officially handed over at the premises of the
"Astras" company in the city of Hairatan, with the participation of
Ismatilla Irgashev, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic
of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ulugbek Kosimov, the Khokim of the Surkhandarya
region, as well as the leadership of the Balkh province and officials from both
sides.
The
humanitarian aid includes flour, rice, sugar, pasta and confectionery products,
vegetable oil, chickpeas, and instant food products.
Afghan
officials expressed their gratitude to the leadership and people of Uzbekistan
for the humanitarian assistance provided, and extended their heartfelt congratulations
on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
