Uzbekistan fencer Zuhriddin Kadyrov won a gold medal at the World Junior and Cadet Sabre Championships, held April 2-10 in Dubai. He became the first Uzbek to win the title of world champion.
In the junior category, our representative, who competed in sabre competitions, defeated the representatives of Canada, Egypt, Hungary, the USA, and in the final surpassed the athlete of Germany. In the decisive meeting, Kadyrov defeated Colin Hathcock with a score of 15:13.
Yesterday, during the competition, Zamira Shakirova and Garbage Aitmuradov reached the quarterfinals. Unfortunately, they remained one step away from the awards of the world championship.
