At the age of four, Umarjon
Abdurazzoqov accidentally ingested caustic soda, which led to severe scarring
and narrowing of his esophagus. Over time, the boy became completely unable to
eat. He was subsequently brought to the Republican Scientific Center for Urgent
Medical Care. Initially, doctors managed to temporarily restore his nutrition
by inserting a special tube into his stomach, but they noted that a complex
surgical intervention was necessary.
However, the parents
decided to seek treatment abroad. Unfortunately, the situation worsened after
the surgery performed in a foreign clinic. Umarjon was returned to the same
medical institution in Uzbekistan. Investigations revealed that during the
foreign surgery, the stomach had been moved upward and connected in place of
the esophagus, which put excessive pressure on his heart.
Following this, a team led
by Professor Habibulla Okilov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, performed an
extremely complex five-hour operation. During the procedure, the stomach was
returned to its proper position, and a new esophagus was fashioned from the
large intestine.
This surgery, performed for
the first time in our country, was successfully completed. Currently, the boy
is in good condition and is expected to return home to his family in the coming
days.
