This was announced by the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change.

It is noted that 87 environmentally hazardous enterprises operate in Tashkent. Their transfer is planned to be carried out in stages, subject to the modernization of production facilities and bringing technological processes in line with modern environmental standards.

In order to ensure the fulfillment of the tasks set, a special commission conducts regular raid inspections of industrial facilities.

In particular, the activities of Uzvtortsvetmet JSC, specializing in the collection, processing and production of secondary non-ferrous metals in the Southern Industrial Zone of the Yangikhayot district of Tashkent, were studied. This enterprise belongs to the object of the 1st category of environmental danger.

During the inspections conducted in October 2025, cases of environmental pollution were identified, and the company was issued a mandatory order.

Compensation in the amount of 18 billion 91 million 717 thousand 137 soums was also accrued for the environmental damage caused.

Based on the decision of the Special Commission and the instructions of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, in order to prevent negative environmental impacts, this enterprise will be moved to the industrial zone of the Jizzakh region, and production activities in the Yangikhayot district will be suspended.

Due to the provided benefits for compensation payments, it is planned to recycle outdated and environmentally harmful melting furnaces and continue the company's activities on modern, technologically advanced equipment that fully meets environmental requirements.

As a result of the measures taken, it is expected to prevent emissions into the atmosphere of an average of 226.7 tons of harmful substances per year. This will significantly improve the air quality in the Yangikhayot district of Tashkent city.
