Abdulla Aripov took part in the summit "Towards the restoration of Central Asia without COVID"

    On June 16 of this year, the Second regional summit on the theme "Towards the restoration of Central Asia without COVID" was held, organized by the UN and the EU on the initiative of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty.

    The summit was attended by U. N. Deputy Secretary-General U. Rao-Monari, Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Aripov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Smailov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan A. Dzhaparov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan K. Rasulzade, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Turkmenistan M. Mukhammedov.

    EU Commissioner for International Partnership Yu. Urpilainen sent a video message to the participants of the meeting.

    The summit held an exchange of views on ensuring economic growth in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Such areas as poverty reduction, food security, promotion of large-scale reforms in the field of health and education, implementation of the national strategy for gender equality, accelerated development of "green" energy, introduction of innovations and digital technologies, modernization of infrastructures and others were noted as priorities in their achievement.

    Taking into account the interaction of the Central Asian countries and the formation of a completely new environment for cooperation in the region, the summit stressed the importance of considering the possibility of developing appropriate sustainable development programs that will allow solving pressing issues together.

    Within the framework of the visit to Almaty, bilateral meetings with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan and the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations were organized, aimed at further development of cooperation, UZ reports.
