According to the Report, this was reported by the NASA press service.
During the exit, the astronauts completed basic tasks, including removing the antenna from the station's truss and collecting surface samples for analysis from the Destiny laboratory module and the Quest airlock.
It was Williams' ninth spacewalk, and Wilmore's fifth. In total, this was the 274th spacewalk as part of the assembly, maintenance and modernization of the International Space Station (ISS). Williams broke the record of former NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson for the longest duration of work in outer space among women. Now she has 62 hours and 6 minutes on her account, which makes her the fourth in the management list in this indicator.
Wilmore and Williams arrived at the ISS on the Starliner spacecraft, which was launched on June 5 by Boeing Corporation. It was her first manned launch to the space station. Wilmore and Williams were originally scheduled to remain in orbit until June 18. Later, due to a malfunction of the ship related to the failure of several maneuvering engines during docking, the return dates were postponed first to June 26, and then indefinitely. As a result, NASA decided that the astronauts would return to Earth as part of SpaceX's Crew-9 mission in the spring of 2025.
