Atmospheric inversion is particularly evident in several regions, including Tashkent city, Samarkand and Jizzakh regions. This process mainly occurs during the morning, evening, and night hours, leading to limited air exchange in the lower layers of the atmosphere.
As a result, it becomes difficult for pollutants to spread, creating unfavorable meteorological conditions. Specifically, fine particulate matter—PM2.5 and PM10—is accumulating in the lower atmospheric layers, with concentrations increasing in some areas. This situation can lead to a deterioration in air quality.
Experts emphasize that due to Uzbekistan's natural-geographical location, relief features, and synoptic conditions, atmospheric inversion occurs frequently and almost regularly in the country.
According to preliminary forecasts, warm weather and inversion processes are expected to persist across the republic until the end of the week.
