By Government Decree (No.32, 28.01.2026), the regulation "On the procedure for covering the living expenses of certain categories of students in student dormitories of state higher education organizations" was approved.
According to the regulation, living expenses will be covered by the State Budget for students studying only in the full-time form of education at state universities, regardless of whether they study on a state grant or a fee-contract basis.
The coverage of a student's living expenses in state dormitories remains in effect for 12 months from the date their family is included in the "poverty line family" category of the Social Register.
Students will be admitted to dormitories on a priority basis without waiting in line. Applicants must apply to the rector (branch director) of their university by the 7th of the month. Alternatively, applicants can submit an application independently through the kontrakt.edu.uz portal.
Applications are submitted once for the relevant academic year. Faculty deputy deans for youth affairs (officials) will summarize the electronic applications within one day and present them to the commission. The commission will review the applications within one day and make a final decision.
