More than 39,000 children in the Gaza Strip have lost their parents due to Israeli attacks

More than 39,000 children have lost one or both parents as a result of the genocide carried out by Israel in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.

The Central Bureau of Statistics of Palestine has issued a statement on the situation of children in the Gaza Strip in connection with the approach of Children's Day (Palestinian Child Day), celebrated in the country on April 5.

According to the statement, the Gaza Strip is experiencing the largest crisis in modern history, with 39,384 children losing one or both parents as a result of the genocide that has been going on in the Gaza Strip for 534 days.

At the same time, about 17 thousand of these children lost both parents at once. Children who have lost their parents face harsh living conditions without any support and care, and find themselves in tragic circumstances. Many of them are forced to take shelter in dilapidated tents or destroyed houses, with virtually no social assistance or psychological support.

Deprived of trust and proper guidance, Palestinian children suffer from deep psychological distress, including grief, deep sadness, loneliness, and chronic fear.

The children of the Gaza Strip face not only domestic difficulties, but also hunger and malnutrition. It is estimated that the number of cases of acute malnutrition exceeds 60,000. In addition, the resumption of the polio epidemic in the exclave is reported. aa.com.tr.
