A delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs visited Kuwait

    On August 12-14, a delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov visited Kuwait. During the visit, a number of bilateral negotiations, meetings with leading businessmen, an Uzbek-Kuwaiti business forum and an exhibition of "Made in Uzbekistan" products were organized.

    At Kuwait International Airport, the delegation of our country was met by Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya. Promoting economic relations, expanding ties between our regions, intensifying exchanges, creating a solid legal framework, strengthening people-to-people ties, and strengthening capacities were the central topics of the meetings of the foreign ministers. At the end of the meeting, the ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the foreign ministries of the two countries on cooperation between diplomatic institutions.

    During the visit, the Foreign Minister of our country conveyed warm greetings and best wishes of the President of Uzbekistan, His Excellency Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to His Highness Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah.

    During the meetings with the Minister of Finance and the Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investments, Dr. Anwar Ali Al-Mudhaf, Managing Director of the Kuwait Investment Agency Ghanem Suleiman Al-Genaiman, Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development Walid Al-Bahar, a number of issues of economic cooperation and the implementation of mutually beneficial joint projects were discussed.

    An Uzbek-Kuwaiti Business Forum was held jointly with the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry. More than 200 representatives of the two countries took part in it. In his speech at the opening ceremony of the event, the Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that "the gates of Uzbekistan are wide open to foreign companies to explore promising opportunities created by large-scale economic reforms, and we are ready to promote any mutually beneficial partnership between the business communities of our two countries." At the exhibition "Made in Uzbekistan" organized within the framework of this forum, great interest was shown in products manufactured in our country.

    In addition, during the visit, representatives of the delegation held talks with the heads of a number of companies and agreed to increase trade volumes, expand investments, and implement mutually beneficial projects with Kuwaiti partners in many areas, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
