The current state and prospects of further development of Uzbek-Maldivian cooperation in various directions were discussed. In particular, it was noted that there are opportunities to intensify ties in the fields of trade, investment and tourism, especially "ziyorat-tourism".
A high assessment is given to the modern progress of Uzbekistan, the results achieved in the country in building a strong civil society, improving the welfare of the population and liberalizing the economy.
The Maldivian side announced its intention to study in detail the experience of Uzbekistan in the field of law enforcement, protection of the rights and freedoms of compatriots abroad, as well as the return of its citizens from conflict zones, their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
An agreement was reached on taking effective measures to increase contacts in all areas of the bilateral agenda, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
