The event was also attended by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization's member states, SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming, Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS Rustam Mirzayev, heads of diplomatic missions in Beijing, heads and representatives of leading scientific and analytical centers.
In his speech, V. Norov noted that the SCO Charter has worthily passed the test of time, demonstrated its unifying power, thanks to the "Shanghai spirit" embedded in it.
It was emphasized that the document confirmed the right of each state to choose its own path of political, economic, social and cultural development, taking into account historical experience and national characteristics, fixed the norm of mutual favoring each other's development and complementarity.
It was stated that the model of consensus-based decision-making fixed in the Charter testifies to the exceptional equality of all Members of the Organization.
The participants of the event were informed about the measures taken by the Uzbek side within the framework of the chairmanship of the Organization to promote the goals and principles laid down in the Charter, to intensify cooperation in all spheres of the SCO's activities, to increase its authority in the international arena, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reports.
