The meeting discussed topical issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNICEF, as well as outlined long-term plans for further strengthening the partnership.

Afshan Khan noted with satisfaction the dynamics of the development of Uzbekistan's cooperation with the UN Children's Fund in recent years, the intensification of bilateral contacts on the organization and holding of major joint events and projects in the republic.

She highlighted the key role of Uzbekistan in the region in implementing practical reforms in the field of comprehensive support for children, including creating favorable conditions for them to receive a quality education.

The UNICEF Regional Director highly appreciated the UNESCO World Conference on the Upbringing and Education of Young Children held in Tashkent these days, which promotes a broad exchange of best practices to ensure universal, fair and high-quality education.

During the meeting, Vladimir Norov familiarized Afshan Khan with the large-scale reforms carried out under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of social protection of children, their health and quality education.

Interest was expressed in further deepening fruitful cooperation with UNICEF in order to achieve concrete results in the interests of children and youth, including within the framework of the implementation of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reports.
