The Academy of Sciences reported this. This anthology is being published by the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, initiated by the President of Uzbekistan.
The first volume of the "Multi-Volume Anthology of Turkic Peoples' Folklore" includes the brightest heroic epics of the Azerbaijani, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Turkish, and Uzbek peoples, such as "Kitabi-Dada Qorqud," "Gurogli," "Alpamish","Kobylandy Batyr," "Kambar Batyr," "Edigey," "Er Saiyin," "Er Targyn," "The Forty Heroes of Crimea," "Manas," "Rustamkhon" and "Murodkhon."
It is well-known that the heroic epics of the Turkic peoples are not merely examples of artistic word craft; they are a history reflecting the lives of the Turkic peoples.
The report said: "Epics such as 'Alpamish,' 'Rustamkhon,' and 'Murodkhon,' included in the initial volume, have been lovingly performed by our storytellers from ancient times to the present day. It is especially gratifying that the art of our bakhshis who perform these epic samples has been included in UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The subsequent volumes of Turkic peoples' folklore are intended to feature all genres of folklore. These samples hold particular significance as they represent the finest and most complete examples".
The project was prepared for publication by the leading folklorists and field specialists of the Turkic world.
