This new reading area, which includes the best literary works, books on self-development, poetry collections and modern manuals, provides passengers with a convenient opportunity to read during the trip and order books as part of the Mutolaa ("Reading") project.
The opening ceremony was attended by Otabek Hasanov, head of the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment, and Sirojiddin Sayyid, Chairman of the Writers' Union, who noted that the initiative would be an incentive to increase the interest of young people in reading and the development of book culture.
As part of the Turonian Book Station project, bookshelves have also been installed at Turkiston, Ipak Yuli, Beruniy, Chilanzor, Mingurik, Tashkent and Dustlik stations. In the future, it is planned to expand the project to other underground and surface lines of the Moscow metro.
The aim of the project is to make the daily trips of millions of passengers meaningful and informative, as well as to promote the culture of reading, knowledge and education in public transport in the capital.
